What is Housecall Physicians? How does it work?
Housecall Physicians delivers comprehensive medical services right to your home, hotel, or workplace. We have reinvented the delivery of home health care for modern times. Simply call our Medical Triage Center staff day or night and a physician will arrive at your location within one hour to care for your medical needs. It’s that simple.
What medical services do you provide?
Housecall Physicians offer convenient medical care for most common illnesses and minor injuries.
Who uses Housecall Physicians?
For those of you who are frustrated by excessive wait times in the ER or refuse to stay in an overcrowded urgent care clinic, Housecall Physicians offer a time saving, efficient alternative. With Housecall Physicians, you can now be taken care of in the comfort of your home, hotel or workplace, with minimal interruption to your daily life. Also, medications are provided during the visit, so you no longer need to waste additional time at the pharmacy.
What areas do you service?
Physicians are available to see patients throughout Orange County and Los Angeles County. We also provide services to an extensive list of area hotels. (please see coverage map for more details)
What is the cost?
Our home, hotel and office calls are $290 plus a nominal charge if medications are dispensed. There is no additional charge for service provided during nights, weekends or holidays. Our Medical Triage Center can be reached toll-free and there is no charge for their assistance.
Do you take insurance?
We are out-of-network providers for most insurance plans. We do request that all fees are paid at time of service. Housecall Physicians will provide you with a detailed insurance claim that can be submitted to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. Reimbursement will vary according to policy.
Do you take Medicare?
We are non-participating providers for Medicare. We do request that all fees are paid at time of service. We will submit an insurance claim (HCFA-1500) on your behalf. You will be reimbursed directly by Medicare (Please note-reimbursement rates may vary) Additionally, you will be provided with an insurance claim that can be submitted to a secondary insurance carrier if applicable.
Do you provide medications?
YES. We do carry a full line of pharmaceuticals that can be purchased for a nominal charge. Additionally, we carry injectables, topicals and nebulizer treatments.
Who are your medical providers?
Our medical providers are licensed and board certified. They are trained in pediatrics, family medicine, internal medicine and emergency medicine. Additionally, they are staff members at local and regional hospitals.
Are you affiliated with a hospital?
YES. All of our physicians are staff members of local hospitals and are able to facilitate referrals to specialists when needed.
How do I pay?
All fees are due in full at time of service. We accept cash, traveler’s checks, Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover.
Do you draw labs or take x-rays?
We do offer a variety of laboratory tests and studies that can be completed in the home, hotel or workplace. Blood work can be drawn and delivered to local laboratories when necessary. Additionally, we are affiliated with local hospitals and can schedule x-rays, CT scans and MRIs.
What if I need to go to the Emergency Room?
In the event that your medical condition is determined to be more emergent after initial examination, our physicians will contact local emergency department staff and coordinate your transfer. This will save you valuable time and allow you to avoid long waits in the ER.
What if I need to be admitted to the hospital?
Our physicians work directly with hospitalists throughout the area. We will coordinate admissions with hospital staff when required.
What if I need a specialist?
We are affiliated with leading specialists in the area and can facilitate a consultation when required.
Do you need to be a member?
NO. Housecall Physicians is available to everyone. There are no membership fees or subscriptions required.
Are you a concierge service?
NO. We do not require any retainer fees or other subscriptions. We simply collect fees for medical services provided. Our Medical Triage Center is available toll-free and there is no charge for their assistance.
Do you have a medical clinic?
YES. We do have affiliate physician staff that can provide you with complete primary care needs including cancer screening and routine health maintenance.
Can you replace my primary physician?
NO. Routine health maintenance and cancer screening needs to be completed by a primary care physician on a regular basis.
